Addressing a news conference at Bicholim, Patnekar said Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has made a provision of Rs 40 crore for the development of Bicholim constituency in the first phase and he is keen to use the entire amount for the purpose of development.
Stating that Parrikar has made a provision of Rs 10 crore in the budget, Patnekar said the amount in the first phase will be used to beautify KTC bus stand, construction of sewage treatment plant and Rs 3 crore for Bicholim Municipal Council (BMC).
“Though the development in Bicholim was halted for last few years, but now things have changed and development will take place at a fast pace with government’s co-operation,” said Patnekar.
“Latambarcem Panchayat will get a new industrial estate soon that will solve the unemployment problem. A new plan for development of all five panchayats including Mulgao, Latambarcem, Sal, Advalpal and Menkurem-Dhumacem and also Bicholim town development is ready and it will be implemented in a step-by-step manner on priority basis,” informed Patnekar.
Stating that Patnekar will give proper justice to Bicholim constituency, Bicholim BJP Block president Vallabh Salkar has asked the people to extend their co-operation during development.
BMC Chairperson Satish Gaonkar said out of Rs 40 crore, Rs 10 crore has been sanctioned for development of BMC area and there will be no delay in developing the BMC area. Mahila Morcha president Rajeshwari Malik said women in Goa are on the forefront in giving victory to the BJP and hence BJP has planned different schemes for the upliftment of women.
